Join us for Batizado 2025!

This year is Mestre Foca’s 22nd anniversary of teaching and sharing his Capoeira in Brooklyn. The Batizado event is for the ENTIRE CVBK COMMUNITY to celebrate all that we have learned and experienced together through the years, and to build new growth and connections. Your collaboration is fundamental to maintain our community and support the good things it brings to our lives. See you there!

All events will be held at Prospect Park, along the esplanade just north of the Le Frak Center, close to the Abraham Lincoln Statue. Schedule

Wednesday, June 4
KIDS 4-5:30pm: This will be the LAST kid’s class of the session. Adults capoeiristas are encouraged be there to participate and play in the roda with the kids
KIDS, ADULTS & PARENTS 6-7:30pm: Samba w/ Quenia Ribeiro

Friday, June 6
KIDS & ADULTS 6-7:30pm: Music, Maculelê, and Capoeira Workshop

Saturday, June 7
KIDS & ADULTS 10-11am: Batizado Warmup Class
KIDS & ADULTS 11am-1pm: Batizado Ceremony, Roda, Maculelê, and Picnic

Registration fee: $100; includes all three days and event t-shirt.
